Abstract
This paper presents the development of an IoT-based eye blink detection system designed to assist people with disabilities and improve user interfaces across various applications. The system integrates sensor-based hardware with cloud computing to monitor eye movements and detect blinks in real time. The hardware setup includes a microcontroller coupled with sensors such as an IR sensor or a camera-based system that tracks eye movement. The detected blink signals are wirelessly transmitted to a cloud platform for processing and analysis. The processed data is used to calculate blink frequency, which can then be used to control different devices or trigger actions, such as operating a wheelchair or managing smart home appliances. The system also offers real-time monitoring, data storage, and user customization through a mobile app, allowing users to adjust sensitivity settings and configure triggers based on their preferences. Moreover, this research discusses the challenges of developing a low-latency, efficient, and reliable communication system for accurate detection and control. The results highlight the potential of this IoT-based solution to enhance the quality of life for individuals with mobility or vision impairments, as well as improve human-computer interaction for various applications.
