Abstract
3D scanning has become popular in the new technological era of Industry 4.0 as it is the process of examining real objects in the world or the environment to collect information about their appearance and similarity. The stored data is used to create 3D digital models in CAD software. This technology is used in virtual reality, sensing, navigation, robotic mapping, design, reverse engineering, prototyping, quality control, examination and digitization of cultural artifacts. This article presents a process for creating a 3D scanner that is easy to use and operate. The Intel SR300 laser scanner scans the product at two support points using a carriage machine. Data collected from scanner points are converted to STL files in 3D Sense.
