Abstract
Attendance recording systems utilizing webcam technology have emerged as a cutting-edge solution for automating attendance tracking in various settings, including educational institutions, corporate environments, and events. Attendance marking in a classroom during a lecture is not only burdensome but also a time-consuming task. Due to a usually large number of students present in the lecture hall, there is always a possibility of proxy attendance. It is extremely difficult for lecturers to manually identify the students who skip their lectures on a regular basis. "In recent years, attendance recording systems incorporating webcam technology have gained traction as an efficient means of recording attendance accurately and reliably. This abstract explores the functionality and benefits of such systems, which leverage webcams to capture real-time images or video footage of individuals entering or exiting designated areas. Attendance management for students through conventional methods has been a challenge in recent years. In this method, the camera is fixed in the classroom, and it will capture the image. The faces are deleted, and then they are recognized by the database, and finally, the attendance is marked. In this system, we propose a conceptual model for an automated attendance system through facial recognition.Through the implementation of advanced image processing and facial recognition algorithms, attendance data is meticulously recorded without manual intervention.
